The protocols provided below for download refer to measurements for cover and density of perennial grasses, shrubs, and cacti, and perennial grass basal diameter on 96 permanent 1x100-ft. belt transects located in 22 livestock exclosures on the Santa Rita Experimental Range (SRER). The protocols list the sequence of operations to perform the measurements in each ;exclosure transect and provide background information.
The Exclosure Transect Data that have been collected following those protocols include all measures of cover, density, and/or biomass by species made on those transects since they were established in 2011.
