These images were scanned mostly at a resolution of 600 ppi at the original image size and saved as TIFF files. All in this set are reflective scans of photos in the Santa Rita Experimental Range archive currently in the Campus Agricultural Center, U of AZ, Campbell and Roger, Tucson.
Except for two images shot at Tumamoc Hill, several portraits from 1948, and the image in the file named “1946 04 xx A46- 10 Advis group” all images are from the Santa Rita Experimental Range. The 1948 portraits are of people active at Santa Rita and the 1946 photo is of Santa Rita advisors although not shot on Santa Rita Experimental Range.
In many cases the photographer was not named on the label. It is likely that many of the unattributed photos are by Matt Culley.
When the label is on the front of the mounting card, the label is included in the image. In some cases the position of the label was digitally moved to consolidate the label and photo in the image.
Images have had minimal editing. Most were adjusted for exposure. Some have had dust and dirt spots removed using “stamp pad” in Photoshop, but almost all of this was from the sky only.
File names start with the date, then month, then year, then the permanent number on the photo, then a text description.
