This is a point shapefile of the transect locations for study FS 1706-25. Each location is the starting point of a transect or a pair (E-W) of transects.
The Forest Service Study FSRM 1706-25 created these transect locations to study the benefits of rest March- October two years out of three.
This coverage was originally digitized from data manuscripted on USGS 7.5 minute maps from pinholes in aerial photos that had been used to locate the transects in field during the original study. These data were automated at the Advanced Resource Technology Group in 1996 and 1997.
